Free Concerts

Starlight Symphony, Saturday, August 29, 2009 (Grounds of First Presbyterian Church)

Feast on a picnic with family and friends while previewing highlights of The Jackson Symphony's new season. As the evening progresses, relax under the stars with classical and pops selections. But beware: the evening will end with a bang provided by the 1812 Overture with live cannons! This concert is sponsored by The Bank of Jackson and HORNE CPAs and Business Advisors. The media sponsor for this performance is Rock 92.3. This project is also made possible through a JAC grant. JAC Grants is a program funded by the Madison County Commission and the Jackson City Council and is administered by the Jackson Arts Council.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Christmas Gift to the Community Concerts, Friday, December 4, 2009 (First Baptist Church)

10:00 AM (Recommended for school groups)

For many West Tennesseans, the annual free Christmas Gift to the Community Concerts have come to signify the start of the holiday season. Jordan Tang leads The Jackson Symphony Chamber Orchestra and the Union University Singers in a musical telling of the Christmas story.

The Christmas Gift concerts are presented free to the community through the generous support of Chick-fil-A on Vann Drive and North Highland, Dr. and Mrs. John Curlin, Dr. and Mrs. Chris Welsch, and the Jackson Symphony League.

Reservations are required for the 10:00 concert. Groups arriving without confirmed reservations cannot be guaranteed seating. Confirmation notices will be sent prior to the concert.

Enjoy the sounds of Christmas - performed by a large ensemble of tubas and euphoniums! Charlie Huffman will once again lead the ensemble of low brass players in music of the season. Don't miss this free performance of carols arranged for the unique timbre of the tuba and euphonium. TubaChristmas concerts are presented throughout the world, and have been performed annually in Jackson since 1998.
