Music in Pictures : West Tennessee Photography Project

Submission Guidelines

The Music in Pictures Photography Project celebrates the rich musical culture and heritage of West Tennessee as told through the eyes of its residents.

While not a competition, photographs will be selected as inspiration for a new composition, Jackson:  A Heritage, by Jordan Tang, Music Director of The Jackson Symphony.  These pictures will also be incorporated as the visual component of the new composition’s live performance at The Jackson Symphony’s final Masterworks concert, Saturday, March 12, 2011.  Additional photos will be displayed in a slideshow before the performance and throughout various businesses in Jackson.

What to Photograph

Photo examples of West Tennessee music heritage and culture include music festivals, concerts, recitals, street performers, church music, music statues/murals/artwork, instruments, and music artists.  Photo content is open to all music genres.
