Color of Music

The Color of Music art contest is an educational project presented by the Jackson Symphony League and sponsored by The Macy's Fund and Aeneas Internet and Telephone.

Educators in all West Tennessee school systems are invited to participate: public, private, parochial, home schools and Special Education programs comparable to grade levels K through 8 are eligible.  This year nearly 9,000 students participated.

All finalist entries (those representing their schools) were displayed on March 13, 2010 in the Carl Perkins Civic Center Lobby in conjunction with the Masterworks Concert.  The award-winning entries selected for the Jackson Symphony League Bravo Award, the Jordan Tang Awards, Blue Ribbon and any Honorable Mention Awards were displayed for a week at the Old Hickory Mall.  The prize-winning artwork is now on display online on the Aeneas Internet and Telephone website:  www.aeneas.com, will be displayed at First State Bank on Oil Well Rd. the last week of April, and at the Timbre Treasure Hunt School Concerts on Wednesday, May 5th.

Please contact Bonnie Cagle, Chair, to join the growing number of West Tennessee educators who participate in this award-winning educational project which combines art and music!

The Jackson Symphony League is proud to announce the winners of The 2010 Color of Music. All pictures were inspired by movements from Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition.
