The Jackson Symphony’s annual camp is open to woodwind, brass and percussion students going into the seventh grade through those who have just graduated from high school. Wind and percussion students must have at least one year of playing experience. String players must have at least 18 months of playing experience and be at least seven years old.
The camp will be held on June 26 - June 30, 2012, on the campus of Union University. The camp will be divided into junior high and high school sections with an addition of beginning strings. The 3 1/2 hour daily schedule will include large ensemble rehearsals and technique classes. A camp concert, free and open to the public, will be presented on the evening of June 30, 2012.
9:00 AM - 12:30 PM: High School Concert Band & Beginning/Advanced Strings
1:00 PM - 4:30 PM: Middle School Concert Band & Intermediate Strings
Students will study with an impressive list of area university music faculty members and members of The Jackson Symphony.
