We are delighted to offer another way to support The Jackson Symphony through our Endowment Fund. Established in 2022, the purpose of the fund is to build a strong and sustainable financial support base that can function continually. Endowment gifts are meaningful investments in the future of The Jackson Symphony.
The Endowment Fund's first gift came from siblings Dr. J. Peter McLemore, Dr. Molly McLemore Rheney, and Dr. John H. McLemore, inspired by their mother and father. "Our parents were long-time supporters of The Jackson Symphony. We could not think of a better way to honor them and to support the Jackson community that they loved than by establishing an endowment with The Jackson Symphony."
If you would like to arrange a contribution to The Jackson Symphony Endowment Fund, please contact Sherry Freeman at (731) 427-6440 or email her at mail@thejacksonsymphony.org
-
The fund is overseen by The Jackson Symphony Endowment Board to ensure professional management and stewardship.
-
Our endowment goal is $2.5 million. The endowment resides with The Jackson Symphony.
-
An endowment gift may be given at any time in a donor's lifetime (cash, securities, insurance policies, or real property) and beyond if arranged in estate planning.
-
Endowment gifts can be:
-
Unrestricted - given to the general endowment fund to help reduce operating expenses
-
Restricted - designated only toward a specific purpose
-
-
A portion of the annual income from the Endowment Fund is used to address immediate needs or specified Symphony programs.
-
The remaining funds are reinvested to ensure indefinite support by keeping the original amount invested and using the accrued income from dividends for its charitable purposes.
-
Donating to the Endowment Fund means The Jackson Symphony can depend on a reliable source of income, allowing us to compete nationally for talent, maintain our extensive schedule of concerts, and expand our outreach to underserved people in our community, especially children, each and every season. Your gift will ensure that the Symphony plays on and on.
